Default Priceless Advice...

Her smile continued to grow until her entire face was lit with bright humor. ?Well then,? She spoke languidly, her lashes fluttering as she leaned against the table and propped her chin up with a fist. Her hair spilled forward and glimmered seductively in the dim tavern lights as she licked her lips in anticipation.

?If you are serious about this escort, then you are in luck! This adventurer is staying here in Dragon Tavern at the moment?? Her voice trailed off as she swallowed once, concealing her inner mirth. ?Just head up the stairs and knock on the last door at the end. Just a warning, this adventurer is somewhat? different,?Sirenna said, for lack of descriptive words.

With that, she straightened and picked up a dishrag, winking at the man.

?I hope you find what it is you are searching for,? She said, heading off back towards the kitchen. ?Good Luck??

?you?re going to need it, She completed in her mind, her laughter gently trailing behind her.

The visions of his mind had faded. His ears pricked up with the news that someone knew the passage. Albeit looking for an excuse to get there soon he gathered his stuff around the table, grabbed a bag and slung it over his shoulder.

He looked up and around, one last time, and breathed in a long hugging breath at what the barmaid meant by the description of this character. A few questions came to mind, the two obvious ones were was "it" humanoid and was "it" dangerous. Physically dangerous, mind you, the thoughts of mental danger or mere calamity was mere theatrics, yet IF the "agent" was going to lead off the path then he would have to sling it to the sky and fly with his intuition.

"Well I am glad there is a person who can get me there!" Axel spoke.

He sort of looked at the barmaid with a nice gesture of thanks, and laid a nice pouch of gold on the table as gratitude. He had lost a fortune last night in gambling but still there was no point in being stingy. Afterall he tend to take his matters of frustration to the monsters, not a friendly girl like this. If life had taught him anything, its the small things that matter, and a good deed was always a small thing.

Once he had loaded his equipment to himself. He hot footed up the steps as not to waste time. If the "escort" was a complete failure then he better know sooner than later. So up the stairs, he arrived towards the end of the corridor and knocked the door. He smiled, emptied his mind, and lastly checked his dagger was sheathed but by his side. He knocked one last time, a subtle yet sturdy rap on the wooden door. And waited.

Default Start with a bang

Voices.

They rose from within and slipped through the barricade; angry, heated words that made no sense to anyone standing beyond the door. One voice seemed distinctly louder, and higher pitched, than the other, but overall the situation seemed like little less than a battleground; and a rather vivacious one at that. Along with the unremitting melody of angry voices was the occasional drumbeat of splintering wood and bone hitting against the walls before the softer, calmer voice quickly voiced a series of unintelligible words, ending with a deep, guttural sound that the other had repeated about a dozen times in the previous half a minute, yet this one spoke with a silky elegance and a deep power that only came with harsh discipline. The resulting orb of energy pulsed as it launched itself from his fingers and into his female companion, causing her body to fly straight out of the door, taking the wooden frame with her as girl and door smashed into a man who seemed to have been waiting outside it.

Necronas walked up to his companion, now lying on the floor above the remains of a wooden door and a man below it. He moved with a smooth eloquence, his jet-black silk robes rippling against his pale frame and snow-white hair, and spoke in a voice that at once echoed cold, solemn wisdom and a fiery will that burned like the sun. He was neither in a rush nor moving slowly, and his speech echoed the same calm mediation. "And that, my dear, is why you don't fuck with me unless I'm fucking you too." he said, extending a hand to lift her back up, his eyes twinkling playfully as he gave a wry smile. The play on words was definitely not lost here. What was lost, however, seemed to be the poor adventurer stuck below the female and the crumpled remains of the door.

Knock and wait thought Axel. He was calm and composed, he definately heard voices in the room and observed the corridor and its environment for extra peace of mind, he grinned, and cupped his ear and put his head to the door. Now obviously this wasn't the smartest of moves but he definately had his moments and this wasn't one of them.

He listened and heard a crack of magic, he was startled and as he rocked his head back he could see the door infront of his eyes, let's say millimeters from his eyes, shard and wood crack around him. He was flung back and landed on his arse. A twin second later he was almost winded, but far from, as another great weight landed on the remains of a room door, and him.

He uffed for a while as the force was quite strong, not mere flying door force. Reminding him of the last Ettin Shaman who had picked a door of its hinges and smashed Axel around the torso, but a extra magical booming thump. For if it was not for this extra force, Axel might have even predertermined and leapt out the way, yet magic was a curiousity for himself and tended to get him at the worst of times.

Voices muffled over his ringing ear too, could be heard but after way too much hesitation. Axel forced the weight of himself and lay on the floor looking up at a curious figure. The figure stared back in a thoughtless expression determining Axel as sewer-trash, adventuring scum, wannabe king potential and laughed. Whether this be... at Axel, the now what occured to be a woman, or the whole entire situation? It seemed a mystery. Axel none the less took the situation in his direction and got up, and now walked like true adventuring scum away from the scuffle. But he knew that a person with such potential power must know a route through the Bravaki Desert into Sky Haven. Well at least he knew he would give it a shot. He smiled and because he was pretty dumb and way too adventurous said " If you know where I be heading I could pay for a traveller to pass with me from Bravaki and show me the route to Sky Haven, perhaps you haven't been before but I am aware that someone of your stature must know of this fickle route " Axel said, slumped, shurgged, stared and repeated "or... perhaps you haven't been before?" and with that Axel re-adjusted his belt and buckle.

She growled him - the deep sound emanating from within her small frame still perched atop the debris. In a blink of an eye, the lass shifted and sat up, ignoring the pieces of wood falling off her body in a small shower of dust. Dark ebony locks shifted from her face and revealed a pale face, upon which two emerald orbs glittered dangerously at Necronas.

”Look at wot ye done,” The girl hissed, ignoring the offered hand and rising on her own accord. A scorched tunic tucked in a pair of black pants graced her lithe figure - complete with a pair of heavy boots, the brass buckles gleaming dully against the worn leather. A spell upon her lips, the girl started raising her hand, the silver bracelet upon her wrist letting out a faint charm…

…but then, someone interrupted her and Qtchi blinked, turning in astonishment.

There, behind her, stood a human. The light flickered, then died from her fingertips and the lass listened as he explained his presence. A snort interrupted him and she languidly tossed her long locks over one shoulder.

”Him? Ha! He couldn’t take ye nowhere,” She said, folding her arms and giving Necronas a sardonic look. ”The man is hopeless. I on the other hand, can be persuaded…”

Pulling her lips back, the lass revealed a row of sharp teeth and smiled sweetly at the stranger...

Necronas snorted at her refusal of his assistance. The girl was a stubborn lass, and a fiery one at that. Rather strange for a girl who looked pretty much dead. But then again, that was what intrigued Necronas so much about her. The girl's rage was nothing if not a conduit for the release of power that she was unable to control, much of which she was unaware even existed. But that same release which had drawn him to her also induced an unhealthy number of brawls, such as this one. In fact, this particular instance was one in which the environment would consider itself lucky.

Necornas conveniently ignored the words that blamed the brawl on him. He may not have been a social pariah, but even he knew that arguing with a woman was utterly pointless, even when you were right, and he didn't want to start the brawl all over again. Besides, they had a visitor.

"What my disoriented companion means to say is," Necronas said. His voice showed no sign of his internal interest in where this nameless adventurer was off to. It was dangerously close to a place of rather significant import to the black seer. At least they were going through the desert route. With any luck they could easily avoid the place completely. But then again, it probably was that time of the year for the annual check-up. A lich's gotta do what a lich's gotta do. And if he earned some money on the way, all the better. "That although I may know of the route, my apparent uselessness is due to my possession of an attention span longer than that of a mosquito. That same logic marks Q here as the most efficient adventurer in the tavern." Necronas smiled wryly and quickly muttered a warding spell just in case that particular tease provoked another one of Q's trademark responses.

"Though I must ask what a scrawny romanticist such as yourself would want in Sky Haven,"
Necronas continued, since this particular individual looked nothing like any of the towering Sky Guards he had seen. "And unless you want me to refer to you as some ridiculous nickname like Grapefruit, perhaps an introduction and a ballpark figure of our pay would be in order."

Necronas grinned as he made note of the color of the stranger's skin. "Though I might just call you Grapefruit anyway." Even their insides were the same color.

"Yeah you call me Grapefruit, but don't suprised if I call you Avacado" Axel grimaced, "anyway so if you know this route you're going to have to tell why exactly I need two guides? If I need two then you think I am paying for two?"

”Tis always better to be prepared,” The young girl sneered in response, unfolding her arms as she suddenly shifted across the debris soundlessly; sidling so close she could almost hear the faint patter of the human’s heartbeat underneath his shirt. Hard, glittering eyes studied the pattern upon his shirt for a few seconds, before rising to the delicate curve of where his collarbone met his neck…

”What will ye do if - say - something were to happen to yer lone guide and ye were left to fend for yourself in unknown lands?” She said in a low voice, pausing long enough to draw in a deep breath and licking her full lips hungrily. Then, in a voice so low the words were almost inaudible, the lass marveled…

”So fragile-” She whispered, her eyes tracing the thick veins just underneath the thin stretch of skin. ”-so easily hurt…or killed…” Her voice trailed off and for a moment, the lass seemed to sway, the movement akin to a mesmerized cobra when faced with a tantalizing melody…

A shudder interrupted her reverie, making the lass blink and stumble back - suddenly losing all grace she carried seconds before. A bit of confusion crossed her face, before it was gone, smoothed back to it's pale complexion - the usual mask of her visage. Taking a few steadied breaths, Qtchi lifted her chin and managed a faint smile…

”…so perhaps tis wise ye had me go as well - don’t ye agree Sir’rah?”

Her eyes flickered to Necronas, wondering what it is he was thinking, before she turned and began making her way back into the darkened room. ”Once ye think of an offer, come meet me- us - by the stables and let us be on our way. If not, I am sure ye can try the Guild… and perhaps this time, they will wait till ye left town before they cut yer throat and rob ye of all yer values,” She spoke wryly, before disappearing between the charred remains of her door frame, and began packing for the upcoming adventure…

"Okay, well I will meet you at the stables tonight at Dusk, we should set out then and ride as far as we can to Bravaki, and then find the desert from there, once you can guide me through that part of the desert, to some of the mountain passages into Skyclaw I will be fine, unless you know any shorter routes?" Axel explained.

He peered through the door opening to see what she was packing,

"You should really give your price first and then I can see if I can match it, who knows perhaps you don't accept gold as a payment, perhaps something of more value to you? Yet to be honest I cannot pay for two guides, so if two of you come you will have to split whatever it is you are asking for."

and he left to go outside as Axel walked down the corridor he spoke up.

"I'll be waiting downstairs for sometime because I need a drink." He continued along the corridor "and then I can meet you at the stables!"

Quite aware of any odd noises from behind him, he came down the stairs to sit down by a table sat next to someone. He placed some of his things to the side of his leg and ordered some Ferlin Bees Water and lit his small pipe. He took out a small book from his sack and just started reading. He seemed relatively calm now that he knew someone knew the way. He looked up at the stranger on the same table as him, and smiled, and continued with his light reading. The sun shone through the Taverns windows and the faeries or mere dust glinted in the rays of light, some great stainglass shone brightly above some of the windows, and Axel smiled. He pawed for the next page of his book and inhaled some of his tobacco.

She threw together a light pack, not saying much to Necronas as her hands deftly tied the straps and tugged it over her shoulder. The stranger departed downstairs, leaving behind the damaged contents of the room and when Qtchi turned around to survey the mess, she winced. She liked Dragon Tavern - in a way, it has become her only home in this alien world - a place where she returned to after her constant adventuring.

She was not about to let the boor ruin her relationship with the owner.

“Look at this,“ She muttered, kicking aside some debris and striding across the silent room. Leaning down, she lifted one end of a fallen table and heft it upon its remaining legs. Gesturing to the rest of the room, she gave Necronas an exasperated look. ”Fix this will ya? I ain’t payin’ Bruce to clean up this mess when it was your fault,” She demanded, before sweeping towards the scorched entrance. Behind her, a loud crack sounded and the table collapsed without warning, raising a huge plume of dust.

”Doh!”

Qtchi made a face of dismay, before straightening her back and casting a final glare at the man. ”Hurry! The rest of us will be at the stables,” She snapped, before marching out and down the stairs…
