It's quite weird. Could it be affected by the fact that in none of my systems IE is the main browser? Perhaps it's something silly to ask, but at this point you never know.

update: it seems to be at random, now that I've kept playing for a while. Five or six attempts will go with no info shown, then two or three with all the data correctly shown, then back to not showing anything, and so on..

Oh boy, random bugs. Those are the harder ones to fix.
If it's properly random, it is probably advert related. Do you have any of those showing, or could you look at the bottom / top bar during the refresh?

More information is always welcome, it would narrow down the places in the software where I could fix this permanently

I'm sorry, I don't follow. I received your PM, but I just came back home and couldn't do anything about this. I'm about to go to bed, so I'll try tomorrow. In the meantime, if you could somehow make it plainer what it is you want me to do, go ahead. Right now, I'm just too sleepy to understand what you need..

Alright try this:
v 1.0.5.1(updated) : Not an official release, but it has 1 extra option in the preferences (F11) screen. "Lazy zoneview"
Enable that, and it should no longer clear the zoneview.

Let me know if it worked and it'll stay in for the next v1.0.6 release.

Note: This is the EXE only, the first post in this thread contains all the other base files that are needed.

Well, it works. I replaced the EXE, clicked the box for the lazy zone and now it shows all the data without disappearing.

Good, one thing less to worry about.
Means I got more time to look for a proper fix ^^

Default Data sharing

Is it possible to share the collected data with us on the forum? For example by using google doc or something like that.

This is how the "data" is currently stored:

[Muckmol's Cave]
Goblinoid=11
Fae=4
Giantkin=2
Beast=2
[The Endless Dig]
Humanoid=49
Construct=41
Outworlder=31
Elemental=36
Beast=28
[The Underworld]
Goblinoid=83
Beast=171
Outworlder=105
Undead=128
Giantkin=34
Elemental=15
Construct=46
Dragonkin=67
Insect=31
Goo=46
Fae=6
Demon=29
Humanoid=8
I'm not going to keep a google docs spreadsheet updated, I just don't have the time for that sort of project. I used to do that, but I made the DTL exactly to be able to step away from that.

You are however, free to do so with the data that is gathered and included in the DTL zip.
Or perhaps another user could be spurred into maintaining that.

However, I should be able to create a tab separated export function in the DTL, which you could then use to import the data into excel or google docs.
So, what sort of export method/format would be most useful for you?

Is that the data collected by all characters?

Data is stored in two files:
* DragonLogger_Data.ini
* DragonLogger_DataLocal.ini

The first, is the data that "comes with" the whole package and is basically all the data I've collected personally so far.
The second, is the data "you" (the user) collected on your own.

There are some options in the preferences dialog(F11) to either show the grand total of both files(which is the default), or only your own personally collected data. Anytime you get an update, you'll be able to overwrite the initial data with a fresh supply of stuff I found, and your own findings will still be there, neat as can be.

The data from all characters you play - using the DTL, is continuously gathered and added to your local data. So, yes that's the data for all your characters, across all accounts all stored into one neat file.

So, if you play 10 characters, you'll gather fresh data 10x as fast as anyone using only 1 character.

Of course, it would be "possible" to split the data using the name of the char that found it, but I don't really see any point in doing that. After all, you want accurate zone data - and the best way to get that is high numbers.

I tried to export it from data analysis window, but copy paste didnt work. Any export data format will do as long as its table format. I can handle open office, excel, csv, sql ... You choose what is easiest for you. But the most universal is csv, every spreadsheet can read it, so every user should be fine with this format.

If you add some export function, I can update the data table on google doc from time to time, or any user who have this tool can. I think that this table will be more accessible to users then having to download you program. And it will be platform independent, now only windows users can see the data.
