Default Festivus

The elf knocks the dust of himself as he enters the half empty tavern. After taking a short look around he heads to his favorite booth in a darkened corner of the room. He orders his favorite drink and flips the barmaid a gold coin for a tip,Merry Festivus he says keep'em coming.
As he sits back relaxing with his drink he wonders why there is not much joy and celebration after avoiding the end of the world as was predicted by the prophets.
He also notices the lack of decorations and presents around town and in the tavern, and wonders have the grinchlings struck again or some other danger like the Meiser brothers!

I rather suspect the button that enables the festivities is being forgotten more and more often as the creators and maintainers of this game are rather preoccupied with other things.

The game goes on,. but it'd be cool if these special events were automated at least.

Or,. if we were told what's going on behind the scenes :P

Oogruk the troll lumbers into the tavern, looks around at the lack of decorations and rumbles, "TIME FOR THE AIRING OF GRIEVANCES!!"

Unhappy Festivus

The lone elf sits in his booth in a darkened corner of the nearly deserted tavern. Festivus has come and gone and there were no decorations hung up,festive trees displayed or most of all no presents to be found here or around town.the elf wonders if some strange spell has been cast over the town to make them forget or be unaware of this great holiday.
He also wonders whatever became of Fakebeard the Pirate who took it on himself to save Festivus last year, nobody it seems has heard or seen him since!
He downs his last drink and buys some provisions for his next hunt, while searching through his backpack he pulls out an old Festivus sweater, the only holiday item he had found during the season! Examining it he sees it is much to large.Looking around the tavern he spots Oogruk the troll and tosses him the sweater. "Merry Festivus" he exclaims as he pulls his cloak tight and exits the tavern on his next adventure!

Default My precious!

Deep in the corner of the tavern, the little imp who stole the festivus stuff cackled...

Unhappy

The lone elf walks through the nearly deserted town, noticing that there are no signs of another great holiday. It seems the Chocolate Festival has also been dismissed and forgotten.
He checks the Bounty Board, seeing nothing but old faded long expired bounties he goes up the steps and enters tavern.Except for a group of traveling bards and some mercenaries gathered around a table the place is also nearly deserted.
The elf takes a seat in his usual secluded booth, orders some elvish wine, pulls out some maps and begins to plot his next course of action.
As he relaxes he wonders if the great hunt of last year did destroy the Easter Bunny and his minions or if they are just holed up, plotting another attack. A slight shiver goes down his spine as one of the bards sing a tale of a king and his followers and their bloody battle with the Demon Rabbit of Caerbannog . A creature that was said to have a vicious streak a mile wide and nasty big sharp pointy teeth!
He downs his last drink, puts away his maps and as he gets ready to leave searches the back of the tavern feeling something is lurking there. Seeing nothing he buys some supplies and after another look at the dark back of the tavern, shrugs and sets off on his latest quest. He feels another cold shiver thinking of the Killer Rabbit as he heads out of town!

After a lengthy adventure in the Pit of Damnation (a place which has come to almost feel like home) Oogruk the troll returns to the tavern to partake of the fare of another holiday. Seeing the near deserted tavern, Oogruk sighs, belches and sits down by the fire. He lights the Ornate Rackshasa Hookah he "found" on his adventures, leans back, and reflects on the glorious days of Spookerday 2012.....

Default Ultimate Points again

The lone elf wakes yet again, battered and bruised from his death bed in the temple of healing. The healers have recalled him again from the afterlife at great cost after being defeated at least a half dozen times by the denizens of evil! He rises slowly and painfully from the bed trying to make his way out of the all to familiar temple of Healing.

He struggles feebly as he tries to make the walk of shame to the tavern, still bleeding from blood soaked bandages and armor torn asunder, looking as if he has been in battle with the legendary Spartacus,Crixus and Gannicus all at the same time but with a wooden sword and a ragged cloth tunic for protection! He can't understand how the gods can let such things happen. Even though he has trained long and hard and has great enchantments, proper aids and fine armor it is not enough to defeat the mighty Bosses of not much higher level than him in the dungeons and caverns that surround the area. Knowing the folly of trying to test the greater bosses that lurk in the deeper recesses he seeks only those of normal level but it seems even they are protected by much greater magic! Delivering blows that should fell even the mightiest foes they simply bounce off as a pebble would bounce of a great stone wall while the enemy rains countless blows down upon him!

The elf shakes his head as he thinks of all the gold and treasure that was wrongfully lost and the resurrection sickness that will cause him to lose reputation and skill for a very long time even sickens him more!

He stumbles slightly as he continues to make his way to the tavern and notices the thousands of once colorful banners that were hung up not more than a year ago to celebrate a great milestone. The banners depicting a fist with a thumb pointing up are now faded and tattered. In a strange coincidence some of the banners that are slightly fallen or are on broken poles seem to show the fist with the thumb now pointing down!

The lone elf just shrugs as he makes his way to the tavern steps and some strong drink inside that will help forget such matters!
